Purpose: The Liturgy Commission supports the Liturgical life of the St Ladislas Community by fostering the “full, conscious and active participation of the assembly,” (The Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy Vatican Council II).
The commission focuses in two main areas: its responsibilities toward the Parish (i.e., environmental enhancement, liturgical education and highlighting seasonal themes) and its responsibilities for Commission growth (i.e., being a prayerful family, educating within the organization and setting yearly goals).
Commitment: The group meets once a month, except in January, February, May, September and October, when the group meets twice a month. Members are asked to serve for at least one year, with the possibility of renewing this commitment each year in the future.
Preparation: There are some fundamental church documents concerning Liturgy as well as a manual from our own Cleveland Diocese which will be presented to each new member, all of which help define the role of the Liturgy Commission within the parish.
