Purpose: Florists bring beuaty to St Ladislas through altar flowers for the weekend Masses. Florists water and maintain flowers during the week and work with the Art and Environment Committee in coordinating the liturgical environment.
Commitment: At present each florist takes one month at a time, rotating according to the number of florists, but this can be flexible; approximately 3-4 hours per week is involved. Assistant florists spend 30-40 minutes per week for watering and maintenance. Assistants can also help the florists in weekly preparation and in setting up the Easter and Christmas altar decorations.
Preparation: Experienced florists are especially needed at this time to rotate. However, anyone interested in becoming a florist will be provided training. Assistants will be given instructions depending on their desired activity.
